New Salem Elementary Teacher Earns Doctorate in Special Education
Spring Grove Area School District is pleased to recognize Dr. Chelsea Slate, fourth grade teacher at New Salem Elementary School, for earning her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.
Dr. Slate’s dissertation, “Recommendations to Improve the Implementation of Teaching Strategies in English Language Arts for Fourth-Grade Students with an Individualized Education Plan at Spring Grove Area School District in Pennsylvania,” focused on enhancing instructional practices to better support students with disabilities in English Language Arts. Through interviews, a focus group, and educator surveys, she explored challenges and opportunities related to differentiation, collaboration, and professional development.
The district congratulates Dr. Slate on this exceptional accomplishment and thanks her for her continued dedication to our students and school community.
